More appointments...

At my most recent doctor's appointment, they informed us that the baby had a choroid plexus cyst that appeared on the latest ultrasound.  A WHAT!?!?  It sounded horrible at first, but once she explained what it is and how common they are, we weren't as worried.  A choroid plexus cyst is basically a little sac that can form where the spinal fluid moves through the brain.  A lot of babies develop them and most of the time, they just disappear.  The cysts have been linked to Downs Syndrome and Trisomy 18, but there are always other risk factors there if the baby has one of those conditions.  Not all babies who get the cysts have other issues going on.  Since other bloodwork and scans had come back normal, we really didn't think that anything else was going on.  Soooooo, the hospital at Ft. Campbell referred me down to Centennial in Nashville to get another ultrasound done as a precaution.  I was just glad that we'd get another chance to see the baby!!
The ultrasound was awesome!  The baby was soooo active and even had hiccups (maybe I've been passing on my awful acid reflux that I've had lately!).  It was funny to feel the baby move and see it on the screen at the same time.  The ultrasound tech was actually getting frustrated at times because the baby was moving so much and she couldn't get the pictures that she needed. After everything was done, the doctor came in and explained everything to us.  He said that the baby did not have any cysts, everything was normal and there is only a 1/35,000 chance that there is something wrong with the baby.  WHEW!  We will definitely take those odds!  Here are some pictures that we were able to get.  The baby is now 2 pounds which they said was right on target.  Guess I can't blame all of the weight that I've gained on the baby :)

Baby Shower time!!

This past Sunday our friends, Rebecca and Hillery, threw a baby shower for us.  It was so much fun!  My mom made the trip down for the weekend and so many of our friends came.  Jeff and I have grown to like Clarksville and it's basically because of the people that we have met! We have been very lucky to hang out with such great people!  Hillery made an AMAZING cake (pictured above)...she's so talented and she needs to start her own business!! :)
We got so many great things for the baby including a "Product of a Cincinnati ATO" onesie (Thanks to Jen Morrison for making the trip from Nashville!).  I know that the baby's wardrobe for the first UC football game is taken care of!
Thanks Rebecca and Hillery for such a great baby shower!!!
