Project 365: Week 8

Day 50: 2/19/2012 Here's Brayden running around in the water near the Tower Bridge in London.

Day 51: 2/20/2012 This is the inside of the Liverpool Station. This is where we caught our train to go back to the airport. Loved the inside of the station!

Day 52: 2/21/2012 Every night in the bath, Brayden plays with his foam letters. I bought these about a year and a half ago and it was the best $5 that I ever spent at Target! He can name all of the letters now!

Day 53: 2/22/2012 Finally some sunshine and warmer weather! Took Lucy for a walk today and of course, Brayden found a hill to run up and down!

Day 54: 2/23/2012 I went on a cleaning rampage today and Brayden decided to help. He came downstairs from nap, grabbed a paper towel and said "wipe the window, clean the window". I've trained him well! :)

Day 55: 2/24/2012 While I was cooking dinner, Brayden took a potholder and took it into the living room. Lucy got a hold of it and must have smelled something good on it!

Day 56: 2/25/2012 We had friends over for dinner tonight. Brayden's friend, Aiden, came over. They were taking a break from playing and enjoyed some cartoons! :)

London!

I found a cheap flight through Ryan Air to London a couple of months ago and I'm soo glad that I did. It was such an easy and fun trip! Considering it was the first country that we visited where we didn't have to worry about a language barrier, it was actually quite relaxing.
We got into London late on Friday night and decided to stay at an airport hotel since we flew into London Stansted which is about 45 minutes outside of the city. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express which had an airport shuttle that just happened to be there right when we walked outside. We stayed down in the lobby for a little while and ordered some drinks at the bar(at least Jeff got one with alcohol) and we ran into some crazy Manchester United soccer hooligans! Haha! As I'm standing there at the bar holding Brayden, a guy just starts talking so loud right in my face about how Brayden is so handsome and "looks like a Manchester United Fan...yep, DEFINITELY Manchester!!". It definitely cracked me up!

We took the Stansted Express train the next day into Liverpool Station. Of course Brayden loved every bit of the ride. We took the "Tube" (subway) to Swiss Cottage where our hotel was. We decided to stay at a Marriott since Jeff still has reward points added up. Once we dropped off all of our stuff in our room, we were off to explore!! Before noon we had already seen Big Ben, Parliament, St. James Park, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. Brayden, on the other hand, did not see a lot of these things because he slept through most of it! :) Whenever we switched trains, we'd have to walk up and down steps and go up and down escalators (and Jeff would carry him in his umbrella stroller). I was amazed, but he slept through all of that, too.

When we got to Piccadilly Circus, it started to rain so we jumped into the first pub (St. James Tavern) that we could find and ended up having a delicious lunch. Jeff had fish and chips and I had British ham, eggs and chips. We walked around the Piccadilly Circus and Charing Cross area for a little while before the rain got on our nerves. We decided to head back to the hotel for awhile to relax then venture out somewhere around that area for dinner. We walked to a restaurant called The Engineer, which was in the Primrose Hill area. It was such a cute, little area with lots of shops and restaurants. The Engineer was delicious, too! I had a gnocchi and mushroom dish and Jeff got braised beef. Brayden had all of the above with a side of apple juice. :)
The next morning we headed out bright and early to Notting Hill. On Saturdays, they have a market on Portobello Road which unfortunately we missed. Being a Sunday a lot of the shops were closed, but there were still vendors out on the street. We went to Chipotle that day for lunch...yes, Chipotle! I knew that if I didn't get my fill of it while I had the chance that I would regret it. :) It was delicious, as always! The tortilla and cheese just weren't the same though. :)

We spent Sunday afternoon at Tower Bridge/Tower of London. We took the tour of the Tower of London which lasted about 50 minutes or so. Brayden did alright through it all mainly because we kept moving, and because I had Chipotle tortilla chips for him to snack on! Very neat place and I highly recommend going inside of the Tower of London. The "beefeaters" give very entertaining tours, too! We went back to the hotel and decided to try another place around there for dinner. We ate at a place called "The Queens". Very small place but delicious food! I had a wild mushroom and garlic risotto and Jeff got pork loin. I decided to splurge and get the white chocolate bread pudding with dark chocolate ice cream on top. Sooooo worth it! After dinner we burned some calories walking up Primrose Hill so that we could get some good pictures of the city at night. Probably the highlight of that night was Brayden, our very talented dancer. As we were walking down the hill, there were 3 young ladies walking up. Brayden ran in front of them and stopped to "strike a pose". He had his arms up in the air, showing off his fabulous dance moves, and just froze. One of the ladies imitated him and Brayden got the biggest kick out of it. He started running around and the girls kept imitating him....sooo funny how much of a ham he is! Of course, he tried to follow them once we started to walk back down the hill.

Overall, it was such a great trip and we were sad to leave. We've decided that we have to go back because there is just so much more to see!

Project 365: Week 7

Day 43: 2/12/2012 14 weeks and the beginning of the 2nd trimester! Woohoo!

Day 44: 2/13/2012 Daddy got home from work and now it's time to wrestle!

Day 45: 2/14/2012 Woke up to a beautiful Valentine's Day gift! We had walked past the store a few days before this and I very sarcastically said "You can just buy me a Valentine's Day gift from there." Turns out he shopped there weeks ago! We usually don't do big gifts for Valentine's Day so it was a nice surprise.

Day 46: 2/15/2012 I'm pretty sure that the bear and Bearcat didn't appreciate Brayden making them food for Lucy. :)

Day 47: 2/16/2012 We went to Jeff's work tonight for a Farewell for his 1SG that is leaving this month. As we were leaving, Jeff had him carry his backpack. :) Brayden sure will miss the "Sergeant".

Day 48: 2/17/2012 Left today for London!!

Day 49: 2/18/2012 Brayden fell asleep almost as soon as we got downtown and slept through about 2 hours of sightseeing. We figured that years from now we'll tell Brayden about the trip to London that he slept through. We needed pictures to prove it! :)

Project 365: Week 6

Day 36: 2/5/2012 While I was cleaning out Brayden's closet, he made me get down all of the stuffed animals. He put Buzz, Woody and Rex in his bed, gave them a drink out of his milk cup and tucked them in. Rex must have been fighting nap time, because Brayden kept saying "Rex, GO TO SLEEP NOW!". :)

Day 37: 2/6/2012 I actually took this picture in Koblenz a couple of weeks ago, but one of Brayden's new favorite sayings is "To infinity and beyond!" courtesy of Buzz Lightyear. Looks like he's taking off in this picture.

Day 38: 2/7/2012 This was my drive home on the autobahn today..slow and snowy.

Day 39: 2/8/2012 Jeff had a trip to the ER today. He was in an Army combatives training this week and got his toe stomped on really hard. Luckily, it didn't end up being broken, but it was bruised and swollen.

Day 40: 2/9/2012 I took this picture out of the kitchen while making dinner. It was supposed to show the beautiful snow falling, but it's hard to see. The truck belongs to our friends, Jen and Nick. They are both deployed to Afghanistan, but they are returning home soon and Jeff got their car out of storage for them so it's ready to go for them when they get back. So excited be stationed near some good friends from Ft. Campbell again!

Day 41: 2/10/2012 Brayden found extra dog bowls and started filling all of them up with food for Lucy. Don't mind the mismatched outfit. That's what happens when you pee your pants.

Day 42: 2/11/2012 Blurry picture...handsome boy

Project 365: Week 5

Day 29: 1/29/2012 This is what 12 weeks looks like! Starting to feel much better! I still get nauseous, but overall, my energy is back and I feel pretty good!

Day 30: 1/30/2012 Happy boy after his bath!

Day 31: 1/31/2012 Actually got some snow today. Ok, I would actually call this "flurries", but it's at least a little bit prettier to look at since the temperature is in the single digits.

Day 32: 2/1/2012 Brayden was definitely not acting like himself. He passed out on the couch when we got home this afternoon. No fever, but he was very, very cranky and exhausted. The next day, the doctor let us know that he had a double ear infection. Poor little guy!

Day 33: 2/2/2012 Baby in a box!

Day 34: 2/3/2012 Whenever Brayden holds a toy phone up to his ear and pretends to talk, I always say "Brayden, who are you talking to?". This morning he said "Talkin to Papaw". Well, tonight he actually got to talk to Papaw. :)

Day 35: 2/4/2012 Storytime before bed with Daddy!
