To be inside the mind of a toddler...

One of my favorite things to do is clean up Brayden's room with him at the end of the day and see where he has hidden all of his little toys. We find blocks lined up on shelves, his favorite cars inside of his toy piggy bank and even a water bottle in his armoire placed behind his toy drum. Oh what I would give to be inside his mind... :)

18 months!

Our big boy turned 18 months old last week! He is so active and curious about everything! That may be why his favoiite show is Curious George. He has about 20 words now, but his favorites are "up", "hot", "all done", "go", "Lucy" and "banana". He now uses the signs for "baby", "dog", "book" and "ball". Some of his favorite toys include blocks, cars, balls and his Thomas train. He also loves books especially the recordable storybooks that our family recorded for him. We hear The Night Before Christmas all year around here. :) Brown, Brown, Brown Bear, What Do You See? is another favorite.
He loves to go to the park and even goes down the big slide at the playfround all by himself. We've made a few trips to Monkey Joe's, which is basically an inflatable playground, since it has been cold outside. Brayden is fearless there as well and loves to jump and go down the slides. Brayden better be a future basketball star because he can already jump and get both feet off of the ground. He has quite the throwing arm as well which has come in handy with entertaining Lucy. I think that she has enjoyed having another person to play with! Yesterday, he stood on one foot and balanced for a few seconds and he thought that it was hilarious when he almost fell over. He is quite the entertainer and we love every bit of it!

"Free time"

I really have been enjoying my new "stay-at-home mom" role since we've moved down here to Augusta. Although it's the hardest job I've ever had (it seriously is, try it and I promise you'll agree!), I've managed to use whatever free time I have to do the things that I always wish I had time to do before. I love scrapbooking, painting, drawing, etc., I've just never really taken the time to put much effort into it. So with Valentine's Day coming up, I thought that it was the perfect opportunity to bake and decorate a cake! I'm pretty new to cake decorating, but I really enjoy it...just hope that it tastes good! :) Unfortunately, I have a husband that only likes white cake with white icing. Yes, boring I know, but I needed him to help me eat it so I made it his way. :)

Here is a look at another Valentine's Day craft. This wreath is actually made with styrofoam hearts, ribbon, and cupcake liners. The inspiration for this one came from this blog
