Last ultrasound!

It's been an exciting week or so around here!
Jeff finished up his job as a Company Commander and is just riding out his last month in the Army. He has actually had time to relax and get some things done although he's mostly been preparing for the career conference that we are going to this weekend. Jeff has been working with a company called Cameron-Brooks. They specialize in placing military officers in corporate jobs after the military. For at least the past year, he has been reading book after book and going through a pretty intense professional development program. We will travel to Charlotte, NC this weekend where they will hold their career conference. Jeff and the other candidates will go through interviews with different companies that are hiring and we'll see what happens! We've kept it pretty open as far as location so that he can have more opportunities presented to him. Hopefully by next Wednesday we'll have the possibilities narrowed down a bit!
I'm on a much needed Spring Break this week! I traveled up to Ohio for a few days and I got to see quite a few people. I finally got to meet my newest cousin, Adrian! He is soooo adorable! It was great to see the rest of our family also. Thanks to Barbie and Jerry for having all of us over! I got back to Clarksville today just in time for my ultrasound appointment. This will probably be the last time that we'll see the baby until August. They had to take all kinds of pictures to check out all of the organs and body parts. We really couldn't tell what she was looking at half of the time, but we at least could see that the baby has 2 arms, 2 legs, a brain, a heart, kidneys and all of the other parts that they were looking for! When she went to take some pictures for us to bring home, the baby turned it's back. I think that it was just getting tired of being bothered! At least we were able to get some pictures though! We can not wait to meet him/her in August!!

Great profile picture!

More baby pictures!

This was a crazy week to say the least! Jeff's parents and sister came in town last weekend and stayed the night on their way to Florida. Lucy was sooo excited because we got to watch their dog, Lizzy for the week. They are so entertaining to watch together. Lizzy is basically a dog that is half Lucy (Australian Cattle Dog) and half Border Collie. They look like mother and daughter. We also put our house on the market on Wednesday. Our realtor came over to snap some pictures and put it online that night. By Friday, we already had someone that wanted to come look at the house. We haven't heard anything about their visit yet, but hopefully we'll get a lot more people here to look at it!
Probably the best highlight of the week was that I went last weekend to get a 4D ultrasound! Jeff was out of town in Cincinnati, so I figured that it would be a good surprise to come home to. They put the entire ultrasound on DVD, so I knew that he would get to see whatever I saw. It was the most awesome thing that we've ever seen. The baby's heartbeat was around 146 bpm. The ultrasound tech had me drink a very cold glass of water, walk around and touch my toes a couple of times because the baby was just curled up in a ball and would not stretch out. Finally, we were able to get some good pictures. He said that we have a very active baby and it looked like a normal 17 week old.
Above picture: The arms are the 2 things towards the top of the picture and they are covering the eyes. The baby is in a ball, so the knees are back.
Above picture: The baby is sucking it's thumb.

Above picture: The leg is in the left side of the picture and the hands are still covering it's eyes.

Above picture: Good view of the baby curled up in a ball. The chin is in it's chest.

They could have told us the gender of the baby, but I didn't want to know. Unfortunately, we think that some of the pictures gave it away. We may not be able to read ultrasounds, but we definitely aren't blind! Our guess would be that we've got a little boy in there, but we'll see what we get in August! :)

Baby Keenan is growing!

Yesterday we hit 16 weeks! Only a few more weeks and we'll be half way there! Time really is flying by and I'm sure that it will continue to do so. Luckily for me, I've been feeling great within the past week or two. The nauseousness is gone (hopefully for good!) and I even had the energy to go to the gym and swim 2 times this week. I love to swim and I'm looking forward to getting back into it. Other than the baby, things haven't been too exciting around here. We've just been working and starting to get our house ready to put on the market. We are a little nervous about finding someone to buy the house, but with troops coming and going so often around here, we're hoping that we will have some luck. Hopefully we'll get the house on the market within the next couple of weeks.
Well, the baby has definitely been growing judging by the fact that my body sure isn't getting any smaller! I'm still fitting into all of my clothes, but I have a feeling that that situation will be changing quickly! It's all very exciting! Here is the progression so far...

9 weeks 1-15-09

11 weeks 1-31-09

13 weeks 2-16-09
